eliamaria! An architectural surprise in the Historic Centre of the town of Lefkada. In the traditional picturesque neighbourhood of P(ou)liou, where once the voices of birds were hosted, there where the “tin” houses painted in various colours, full of flowerpots with flowers, compose impressive “scenes”. Picturesque cobbled lanes and kantounia have welcomed, from past centuries, churches and mansions, which today house Lefkada’s contemporary culture. And also, houses built by self-taught master craftsmen, wise in their artistry of adapting the buildings to the modest landscape without smudging its natural beauty!

And within this great theatrical stage, of the “renowned” neighbourhood of P(ou)liou, the house of the great Lefkadian actor Ilias Logothetis, the “eliamaria”. Fully reconstructed in 2023, cared for down to the last detail, by himself and his companion Maria Zachari-Logothetis. A work of art, ready to repay the respect of its visitor’s choice and to offer generously the taste of eras we loved and that we seek in our tired escapes, together with a present-day sense of high culture at home.
